    We use an Itero scanner to take images and create models of your teeth. We then work with our lab to create your bespoke smile so you can view the results beforehand and make any necessary changes.

    Porcelain is the material of choice not only due to its likeness of tooth enamel but also due to its durability. It is exceptionally strong and hard wearing so should last you 15 years + with proper care. 

Digital Design

Here at Diamond Cosmetic, we use the latest digital smile design software and an iTero scanner to design your new smile. The digital scan gives us an exact digital model of your teeth. These digital models than then be 3D printed to give us physical models to work off.  

We can then design your new smile on a model which can then be transferred using temporary mock-up material in your mouth so you can visualise your new smile and make changes/alterations as you require. This is called the Smile Design Process using a diagnostic wax up on study models, which replicate your teeth and jaws.  

Once you have confirmed that you are happy to proceed with treatment based on your wax up models, we can then book your veneer preparation appointment.

The Whitening Process

    Consultation

    Your journey begins with a consultation with our dentist and treatment coordinator. This is an opportunity to discuss your goals, assess your oral health, and determine what’s possible based on the dentist’s examination. Your teeth and gums must be healthy before any cosmetic treatment can begin. At this appointment, we will provide a detailed treatment plan along with full costings.

    Tooth Whitening (If Required)

    Before fitting your veneers, you may choose to undergo a course of tooth whitening to brighten your natural teeth. This ensures a seamless match between your veneers and surrounding teeth for a flawless result. While optional, this step is recommended for patients looking to enhance overall brightness.

    Veneer Preparation & Colour Selection

    To prepare your teeth for veneers, a very thin layer of enamel is carefully removed to allow for a secure bond. Impressions or digital scans of your teeth are then taken and sent to the dental lab, where your custom veneers are crafted. In the meantime, you’ll be fitted with temporary veneers. During this stage, we also select the perfect shade to achieve your desired smile—whether it’s a full transformation or blending a single tooth with the rest of your teeth.

    Fitting Your Veneers

    Once your veneers are ready, they will be carefully bonded to your teeth using a strong adhesive. This process is similar to composite bonding, ensuring a durable and natural-looking finish. With your new veneers in place, you can enjoy a brighter, more confident smile.

  • Porcelain veneers are suitable for most patients providing there is no severe crowding or spacing. If this is the case, we would recommend a course of Invisalign prior to having the veneers fitted. Maintaining good oral hygiene is also very important.  

  • As well as giving you that perfect smile you deserve, porcelain veneers are extremely durable and will last 15+ years with proper care. The also have the advantage of being stain resistant. 

  • While a smile makeover sounds exciting you may be unsure due to horror stories of fake looking veneers. Our talented clinicians here at Diamond Cosmetic will ensure you have a natural smile paying special attention to the colour, translucency, proportions and ratios, shape and thickness of the veneer to ensure you are delighted with the results.

  • No specific maintenance is required other than keeping up good oral hygiene and visiting your dentist and hygienist for regular check ups and cleans. 

  • You will be given local anaesthetic in areas of the mouth where it is necessary to remove a thin layer of enamel. The anaesthetic numbs the area completely so you will not feel any pain during the procedure. Much like having a traditional filling carried out. 

  • In the majority of cases, it is necessary to remove a very thin layer of your natural tooths enamel in order for the veneers to bond perfectly to the tooth. Some people may have pre conceived ideas of having “peg like” teeth under their veneers. This is certainly not the case here at Diamond Cosmetic. Sometimes you will not even notice that you’ve had any enamel removed from your natural tooth.
